On September 22, Shin Ji Won took to social media to share her thoughts alongside photos from the movie stage greeting where she wore the outfit in question.
“I only found out about the articles later. But I was really upset when I saw what had been published. Even I looked at the photos and wondered, ‘What is that?’” she began.
She continued, “It was a shadow that wasn’t visible when there was no lighting, so I don’t understand why such a strange shadow appeared in that dark area. Is there something strange about my body shape? I’m just upset.” She then added, “Still, Karlovy Vary did nothing wrong. Please give our movie lots of love.”
She concluded on a humorous note, writing, “My life… Why am I even living? First there was Myeongryun Jinsa Galbi, and now this bulging-out incident. Another ridiculous episode of my life has been permanently documented,” drawing laughter with her self-deprecating reaction.Earlier, on September 6, photos and videos of Shin Ji Won attending a recent stage greeting went viral on online communities under the title “Actress Suffers a Major Wardrobe Disaster.” At the event, Shin Ji Won wore a burgundy knit dress that highlighted her collarbone. The form-fitting outfit accentuated her slim waist and curves, but in certain photos, an unusual shadow around her pelvic area made it appear particularly prominent.
Netizens responded with comments such as, “Her stylist is her worst enemy,” “The way that particular area sticks out is embarrassing,” and “I ended up paying more attention to the dress than the actress.”
Shin Ji Won has now explained that she only recently became aware of the articles and emphasized that the unusual appearance of the outfit was not intentional.
Meanwhile, Shin Ji Won was born in 1996 and debuted as a member of Berry Good in 2016. Following the end of her activities with the group in 2021, she began focusing on acting under her real name, Shin Ji Won. She recently appeared in the comedy film Karlovy Vary, which was released on September 9.
