In a café in Gangnam, Seoul, on September 22, Jung Eun Chae discussed the feedback she received after the conclusion of SBS drama Flex X Cop 2. She mentioned that although she doesn’t have a wide social circle, people in her neighborhood often express their enjoyment of the show when she’s out and about.
When asked about her boyfriend Kim Chung Jae’s reaction to the drama, Jung Eun Chae mentioned that he enjoyed watching it and that they both support each other’s work. She shyly revealed that they both are self-sufficient individuals who take care of themselves without needing anything special from each other.
Reflecting on her role as Joo Hye Ra in the drama, Jung Eun Chae shared her admiration for the character’s ability to trust, rely on, and acknowledge her team members when needed. She found this aspect of Joo Hye Ra’s personality to be her greatest strength.
Discussing the similarities between herself and Joo Hye Ra, Jung Eun Chae mentioned that she felt a high level of synchronization with the character, which surprised her. She shared that even the director saw her as embodying Joo Hye Ra, highlighting how others perceive us differently from how we see ourselves.
Jung Eun Chae also talked about the attention she’s been receiving from female fans, attributing it to the character’s coolness and charisma. She found playing such a character to be exhilarating and satisfying.
Flex X Cop 2, which concluded on September 19, was well-received for its unique storyline involving a chaebol-turned-detective and a violent crimes team leader working together to solve cases.
Jung Eun Chae portrayed Joo Hye Ra, the leader of Violent Crimes Team 1 at Gangha Police Station, while Ahn Bo Hyun reprised his role as Jin I Soo, a detective and third-generation chaebol heir on the same team.
