During her time alive from 2018 to 2019, Sulli was actively engaged in charitable endeavors in South Korea. She initiated a project through the show Jinri Market to support girls from low-income backgrounds by preparing 100,000 packages of organic sanitary pads, aiming to break the stigma surrounding menstruation.
Tragically, before the project could be fully realized, Sulli passed away on October 14, 2019, at the young age of 25. In her honor, the production team in South Korea completed the distribution of the sanitary products she had organized.
Following her passing, Sulli’s fans carried on her charitable work. Fan groups in China continued to support underprivileged girls in rural areas by donating menstrual hygiene products and offering educational sessions on puberty and reproductive health in memory of the late idol.
To this day, some of the recipients of the aid still send letters of gratitude to Sulli. In an effort to preserve the positive image the children have of her, the organizers have chosen not to inform them that she is no longer physically present.
Even in death, Sulli’s impact lives on. True closure only comes when someone is forgotten.
