On October 17, the YouTube channel “YIYAHO” released a video featuring Lee Soo-min discussing privacy with elementary school students. During the conversation, she listened to the children’s honest opinions on various topics, including parents knocking before entering their rooms, checking their phones, setting curfews, and tracking their locations.
When the discussion turned to curfews, Lee Soo-min recalled, “I had a curfew, but my mom didn’t set a specific time. She just told me to come home before the sun went down.” She continued, “Summer was my world. In winter, the sun set early, so I would insist that it was still daylight and come home late,” making everyone laugh.

She then confessed, “My mom was really strict. She checked my phone every day and always looked through my conversations with my friends. Instead of becoming a well-behaved child, I became a child who was really good at hiding things.” She also mentioned rules restricting sleepovers at friends’ houses and setting times to return home, adding, “Honestly, you can do anything during the day, and you can do anything even within your curfew.” Sharing her perspective, she said, “Restrictions can actually make things more dangerous. I think many kids who have curfews will understand.” She emphasized, “Moms and dads, listen up. You’re just making your children better at hiding things.”

Lee Soo-min rose to popularity in 2014 when she became a host of EBS’s children’s program Talk! Talk! Boni Hani. Her outstanding hosting skills and cheerful personality earned her the nickname “the president of elementary school students.” She later continued her acting career, appearing in dramas such as Second to Last Love, The Rebel, and Twinkling Watermelon, as well as the film The Dude in Me.
