On July 15th, there was a buzz on social media as BTS’s Jungkook surprised fans by launching a new Instagram account, @mnijungkook. This sudden return happened over a year after he had deleted his previous account with 52.4 million followers.
The meaning behind the new handle is “My name is Jungkook,” as explained by the BTS member during a live session with V on the platform. Jungkook’s reappearance on Instagram skyrocketed him to the top trending topics on social media, with fans and media outlets buzzing about his unexpected comeback.

Fans still remember Jungkook’s decision to leave social media back in 2023. After deleting his personal account, he cited a desire to disengage from such platforms. Instead, he created an Instagram account for his dog, Bam, under the handle @bowwow_bam, which has gained 7.7 million followers and significant engagement.
At 28 years old, Jungkook has completed his military service alongside BTS members. Known as the group’s versatile talent, he excels in singing, dancing, rapping, and songwriting. His solo music, including tracks like “Euphoria,” “My Time,” “Still With You,” and the album “GOLDEN” from 2023, have garnered international success, notably the chart-topping hit “Seven” that secured the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.
BTS is gearing up for a full group album release in early 2026 and a world tour. Fans are eagerly anticipating more solo projects and the possibility of a personal tour from Jungkook, following in the footsteps of Jin, j-hope, and Suga who have already embarked on their own tours. Jungkook’s return to Instagram has excited ARMYs worldwide and reignited anticipation for his future endeavors as a global superstar.
