On September 24, the YouTube channel Real Life Mode Queen Ji Hyun uploaded a video titled, “Opened a Salon, Only for My First Customer to Have Hair Loss.” In the video, Hyelin visited a hair salon run by former Jewelry member Lee Ji Hyun, where she had the condition of her scalp and hair examined while the two chatted about various topics.
Explaining why she wears hair extensions, Hyelin shared her concerns, saying, “My hair is so thin that it has no strength and loses volume.” After examining Hyelin’s scalp, Lee Ji Hyun explained, “The redness and sensitivity need to be addressed first. The spaces between the hair follicles are wide. The scalp at the back is even redder because of inflammation.”
She continued, “There’s also sebum and dead skin at the back,” adding dramatically, “Your scalp is practically crying out for help right now.”
Lee Ji Hyun then asked Hyelin, “Did something happen?” before telling her, “There is hair loss at the back right now. Your scalp urgently needs a lot of care.”
Hearing this, Hyelin could not hide her surprise and exclaimed, “Hair loss?” She then sighed and repeatedly said, “I have hair loss?” seemingly unable to believe what she had just heard.
“I genuinely had no idea,” Hyelin admitted. “I don’t really get a chance to look at the back of my head, and no one ever told me.”
