Bang Sihyuk, chairman of Hive, has been banned from leaving the country amid allegations of unfair trading practices worth 190 billion won.
According to MBN, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Financial Crimes Investigation Unit has banned Bang from leaving the country on charges of violating the Capital Markets Act.
Chairman Bang is under police investigation for allegedly deceiving investors in 2019 by pretending there were no plans for an IPO in Hive and then selling their shares to a private equity fund established with funds from former Hive executives, resulting in approximately 190 billion won in illicit profits.
Police have previously summoned Bang for questioning twice.
