The new release has also garnered international acclaim. “Unknown Planet” secured the top spot on the iTunes Top Songs charts in Singapore and Taiwan and charted in 16 regions. “Dear my crazy soulmate” made its mark in nine regions, including reaching No. 1 in Sri Lanka.
These tracks serve as pre-release tracks for IU’s upcoming sixth full-length album, with the singer contributing the lyrics for both songs.
“Unknown Planet” delves into the memories of a past relationship, capturing moments like the inception of unexpected love, awkward first nights, first kisses, significant songs, unique nicknames, and reconciliations after arguments. The song beautifully encapsulates the poignant decision to move on from shared love.
The music video for “Dear my crazy soulmate,” featuring veteran actresses Kim Young Ok and Na Moon Hee, alongside Shim Dal Gi and Esom, showcases a unique friendship set in a prison, blending humor and emotion.
The music video for “Unknown Planet” is set to release at midnight on September 16.
