Women’s Sense reported on June 18 that the Uijeongbu District Court, Goyang Branch, ruled in favor of BLACKPINK’s Jennie on May 9, ordering the removal and destruction of an AI-generated novel falsely claiming to be authored by her biological father.
The book, created by Mr. A, featured Jennie’s name and logo, and falsely alleged parental ties, sparking widespread misinformation about her background. Jennie, who has never disclosed details about her father, faced a surge in fake news, prompting her agency OA Entertainment to take legal action in September 2023.

With legal support from Yulchon LLC, OA filed a lawsuit by December 24, 2024, demanding a full ban on the book and related materials. The court found Mr. A’s claims baseless, citing Jennie’s official family registry as evidence.
The ruling prohibits Mr. A and his publisher from distributing the book, mentioning Jennie in any media, or posting about her online. While no fines were issued, the defendant is responsible for all legal fees, demonstrating a strong stance against false identity exploitation and AI-generated misinformation.
