On October 14, actress Hwang Jung Eum uploaded a new video to her YouTube channel titled “The Day I Went to Eat Prawns With Yi Young and Yoon Hee.”
In the video, Hwang Jung Eum enjoyed a meal with her close friends, actresses Shim Yi Young and Jo Yoon Hee. As all three have eldest children of the same age, their conversation naturally turned to parenting. Jo Yoon Hee shared, “I have a certain image of the mother I want to be. For example, I used to wish my own mother wouldn’t drink alcohol, so I think Roa probably has expectations of me too. I want to become the mother Roa hopes for, although I’m not exactly sure what that means. She probably wants a mother who never gets angry, but it’s impossible to raise a child without occasionally scolding them. Even if I explain something nicely a hundred times, she sometimes still won’t listen.” Hwang Jung Eum jokingly responded, “That’s why I always keep a back scratcher nearby,” making everyone laugh.
As Hwang Jung Eum talked about how much she had been enjoying creating YouTube content, Jo Yoon Hee admitted that she still felt uncomfortable revealing her unfiltered personality to the public. “I’m still a little worried about showing people my natural self,” she confessed. Hwang Jung Eum responded with a playful observation, saying, “Aside from being beautiful, you have a personality that makes being a celebrity difficult. It must have been really hard for you when you were working.”

Jo Yoon Hee agreed, explaining, “Doing things in front of large groups of people was always difficult for me.” Hwang Jung Eum then shifted the conversation toward her friend’s inner strength, saying, “I’ve always seen a strong side of you. When the news of your divorce came out years ago, I was honestly very shocked.”
Hwang Jung Eum continued, “The reason I’m bringing this up is because I think you’re incredibly strong. Getting divorced isn’t something just anyone can do. For an actress, especially, it’s an enormous decision. You have to accept all the consequences, and it’s terrifying because you might even lose your livelihood overnight. When I heard about your divorce, I thought you were such a strong person.” Hearing her friend’s words, Jo Yoon Hee honestly admitted, “I was scared. I didn’t know I was that brave.” Her heartfelt confession offered a rare glimpse into the emotions she experienced during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
Meanwhile, Jo Yoon Hee married actor Lee Dong Gun in 2017, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Roa. However, their marriage came to an end in 2020.
