According to Chinese media outlets on October 14, Aijing’s mother released an official statement on Weibo addressing the controversy and apologizing to those affected by the wage payment dispute.
In her statement, Aijing’s mother explained that she had previously operated a business in the education sector, but the company’s financial situation deteriorated rapidly, eventually leading to severe operational difficulties and debt-related disputes.
“Regardless of the circumstances, failing to pay the money that should have been paid on time was my mistake, and it is something I must acknowledge and take responsibility for,” she stated. “I sincerely apologize to everyone who has suffered as a result.”
She further explained that the company’s financial crisis and changes in the business environment had prevented the problems from being resolved as expected. However, she emphasized that she was actively working toward a solution. “I am currently contacting the parties involved individually to discuss possible resolutions,” she said. “I will not avoid my responsibilities and will continue taking responsibility until every issue has been resolved.”
Aijing’s mother also stressed that her daughter had no involvement in the controversy and should not be held accountable for her parents’ business affairs. “The responsibility for this matter lies with us, her parents, and it is our duty to resolve it appropriately,” she explained. “My daughter has absolutely no connection to the business I previously operated or any of the related disputes.”
The controversy began after former employees of a Beijing-based education company reportedly connected to Aijing’s parents claimed that they had not received their wages properly since 2024. According to reports, Aijing’s mother served as the company’s legal representative, while her father held a supervisory position.
