People are always bringing up old actresses and current female idols, going on and on about how old-time natural beauties were this and that, and how idols today all look the same. Every time I see that, I can’t help but think “if Son Yejin, Jun Jihyun, Han Hyojoo, or Song Hyekyo were idols today, they’d be f*cking bashed to no end. And if Jang Wonyoung or Karina were old-time actresses, people would be f*cking praising them.
Honestly, when I read those comments, it just feels like old actresses are being used as a tool to bash today’s idols. And it’s not like actresses back then didn’t get plastic surgery either. Most idols today debut before they’re even adults, so there aren’t many who’ve had major surgery. I really don’t get what’s supposedly such an unbelievable difference between people like Jun Jihyun, Han Hyojoo, Son Yejin, Song Hyekyo and today’s natural beauty idols like Yuna, Sullyoon, Leesol, Leeseo, and Jiwoo.
It’s just styling differences. If the former had today’s idol makeup, they’d be the “flashy beauties” that people here hate, and if the latter wore lighter makeup, they’d be the “pure natural beauties” people rave about. With makeup removed, they’re all equally pretty natural beauties. If those idols were old-time actresses, they’d definitely be f*cking praised too.
