[pann] WHAT I’VE REALIZED AFTER SEEING PEOPLE MAKING A FUSS ABOUT JANG WONYOUNG’S OUTFIT

Women’s rights in Korea are indeed being undermined by women themselvesㅇㅇ The real advancement of women’s rights is preventing unjust, coercive exposure like the old Stella incident and ensuring women can freely dress within legal boundaries if they choose. 

But in our country, Confucian feminists and Confucian Taliban oppress us, so we can’t achieve true freedom. In countries and eras where women’s rights were worst, women were originally considered male property. Since their bodies belonged to men, it was common for them to be tightly wrapped up so only their husbands could see them. One thing that broke that was the miniskirt. It symbolized that women were no longer men’s property and that women themselves possessed s*x**l self-determination. 

In a May 1969 newspaper column, the writer declared, “Skirts are rising higher, exposing not just the arms but even the shoulders, making it dazzling to behold,” before scolding, “Just who are these women trying to look pretty for, putting on such coquettish displays?”

Even after half a century, Korea remains more Confucian than anyone else, no matter how fiercely it blames Confucianism.

That’s just how female-dominated communities are. When CL shows skin, it’s like, “Wow, that confident new woman is so cool~” But when Jang Wonyoung or Karina do it, people go, “What are those kids doing? What the heck~” The funny thing is, those kids are actually the “pretty and talented girls”? In a few years, they’ll be the ones bashing them^^
