According to an official from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, it was revealed during a press briefing on May 19 that there were a total of seven cases filed by Kim Soo-hyun’s side and three cases filed by Kim Sae-ron’s side.
The case concerning a violation of the Child Welfare Act filed by Kim Sae-ron’s side against Kim Soo-hyun is currently being investigated by the Women and Juvenile Serious Crimes Unit at Gangnam Police Station. On the other hand, Kim Soo-hyun’s legal team’s complaints related to defamation and AI manipulation are under the jurisdiction of the Investigation Division at the same station.
A public interest complaint against lawyer Bu Ji-seok, the legal representative of Kim Sae-ron’s family, was also transferred from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to Gangnam Police Station on May 16. Bu is accused of providing inappropriate legal advice.
Additionally, the defamation complaint filed by Kim Sae-ron’s side against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho is currently under investigation by Seodaemun Police Station.
It was noted by the police that none of the accused individuals from either side have been formally questioned yet, and Kim Soo-hyun’s team is working on scheduling appearances for questioning.
On May 7, Kim Se-ui, CEO of Garo Sero, and lawyer Bu Ji-seok released alleged audio recordings with Kim Sae-ron from a whistleblower based in the U.S. They filed new complaints accusing Kim Soo-hyun of child welfare violations, false accusations, and even claims of a murder-for-hire plot. Kim’s agency, Gold Medalist, has dismissed the recordings as AI-generated forgeries and took further legal action on May 9.
As the investigations are still ongoing, both sides are actively pursuing legal actions.
