The conflicting claims continue between Kim Soo Hyun’s “1-year relationship” and the late Kim Sae Ron’s “5-6 years” relationship duration.

Kim Soo Hyun held an emergency press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu on March 31. During the conference, he revealed, “I dated the deceased for about one year.”

The first dating rumor between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron surfaced during the airing of “Queen of Tears“. This was when Kim Sae Ron posted and later deleted a photo of herself with Kim Soo Hyun. Initially, Kim Soo Hyun’s side responded with, “The dating rumor is baseless. We cannot comprehend Kim Sae Ron’s intentions.” Kim Sae Ron’s side did not release a statement.

Kim Soo Hyun later stated, “The late Kim Sae Ron and I were in a relationship about five years ago, approximately four years prior to the ‘Queen of Tears’ broadcast, for a duration of one year. However, when the dating rumor came up, I denied it.” He denied the accusations of dating when she was underage as “false”.

Kim Soo Hyun also declared that the KakaoTalk messages provided by the grieving family were tampered with, asserting, “We will thoroughly investigate all the alleged evidence through appropriate investigative means.”

This differs from the contents of a letter titled “The Letter Kim Sae Ron Couldn’t Send” that the bereaved family shared during the press conference on March 27. According to the family, they tried to deliver the letter through a friend but were denied access to Kim Soo Hyun’s apartment complex.

The letter from Kim Sae Ron expressed, “We were together for about 5~6 years. You were my first and last love, so I hope you won’t ignore me. Seeing you avoid me and act like I don’t exist devalues all that time and feels empty.”

Currently, Kim Soo Hyun asserts that they only dated for one year after Kim Sae Ron turned into an adult, while the bereaved family claims that the relationship began when she was still a minor. Now, the public is attentively waiting to see which side’s statement will be verified.

Furthermore, Kim Soo Hyun’s side has taken legal action against the bereaved family, a woman who claims to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt and runs the YouTube channel Garosero Institute, citing violations of laws and defamation. They have filed a damages claim worth 12 billion KRW. On the other hand, Kim Sae Ron’s side has filed a stalking complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho and is contemplating legal measures against Kim Soo Hyun.
