On the 18th, Namoo Actors, the agency of Lee Naeun, announced her casting in the drama “The Defects.”
The new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama “The Defects” (directed by Oh Ki-hwan, written by Ahn So-jung, produced by Group Eight and Take One Studio) is an action thriller that tells the desperate story of survival and revenge of children who were abandoned by their adoptive parents and narrowly escaped death.
Lee Naeun will play the role of Somi, one of the children abandoned by their adoptive parents. Despite her painful past, Somi is a character who lives with bold energy, alongside other children including Ah-hyun (played by Won Jin-ah), who acts as their leader.
Previously, the girl group April, to which Lee Naeun belonged, was embroiled in a bullying controversy in 2020 involving former member Lee Hyunjoo. Following the controversy, Lee Naeun halted her activities, and April disbanded in January 2022.
