Years after struggling, DAY6’s Wooyoung once paid for 2PM’s meals and drinks. Later on, the junior members returned the favor.

On September 9, Young K recalled their longtime senior-junior relationship at JYP Entertainment in an episode titled “Junior Young K,” released on Wooyoung’s YouTube channel Jang Wooyoung E. Young K named Wooyoung as a “senior I want to emulate” and looked back on their long-standing connection as colleagues from the same agency.

Young K revealed that DAY6 frequently contacted Wooyoung during the period after their debut when the band was not making much money. Whenever they wanted to have a drink, they would reach out to Wooyoung, who would always treat them to food and drinks.

In particular, Wooyoung even paid for the entire bill at one of DAY6’s concert after-parties with his own card. Recalling the moment, Young K said, “At the concert after-party, he paid the entire bill with his personal card. It was really cool. I thought, ‘That’s what a true senior is like.’”

Wooyoung’s example left a lasting impression on Young K. He explained, “Now, whenever I’m with my juniors, I also pay for their meals with my personal card,” showing how the kindness he received from his senior has naturally been passed down.

Wooyoung, who had spent years treating his juniors to meals, eventually received an unexpected “payback” from DAY6.

Last year, after releasing an album and holding a solo concert for the first time in seven and a half years, Wooyoung organized an after-party at a Korean barbecue restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, for the staff who had worked hard alongside him.
